Organize anti-racist, pro-migrant events in your community between November 1-10, 2024 to oppose racism and call for regularization and status for all.
Why Now?
We need to conduct mass popular political education to show how xenophobia is a strategy of the super rich to distract working people from holding them accountable. We must broaden public support for regularization and permanent resident status for all migrants including students, workers and refugees.
- Mainstream media, and right-wing voices have been blaming migrants and immigrants for the housing and affordability crisis
- Public support for immigration is declining due to these racist narratives.
- The federal government plans to cut over 775,000 study and work permits, has gone silent on regularization of undocumented people and is signalling a reduction to permanent residents on November 1.
- Provincial leaders are intensifying attacks on refugees, migrant workers, and international students to distract from their failures.
- Global trends show a rise in migrant scapegoating and authoritarian governments.
